Long Day!!!

Friday, June 6, 2008

After a 12 hour day, Tyler is finished with his first day of chemo. Charles and Sarah took turns hanging out with Tyler at the hospital. Charles called and said that he was catching up with phone calls while Tyler was sitting in his wheel chair watching tv and playing video games. Tyler can get around using his crutches but it is best if he remains in his wheelchair. His leg is very weak and could break if pressure was applied. He will have another chemo tratment on Sunday. They have learned that "flexible" is now a part of their life. Schedules can change daily. They are living life one day at a time.

The family was spending the night at their home last night. They have enjoyed staying with the Ross family especailly Christian and Elijah. The boy's are having fun playing with their friends. The are still in need of some bedroom furniture as they had one bedroom suite donated for Tyler. Someone else may be lending them another one. It couldn't be too much fun sleeping on an air mattress on the floor.

I am still receiving many phone calls from concerned friends. Last night at the CAL baseball game (we won by the way to advance to state) Tyler's friends were asking about him. Thank you for your support and prayers. The Hanson's are so grateful and appreciative of all the support and prayers! Stay close! Kim

Hey Tyler,
You are getting lots of prayers from us back in louisville. We All miss youi and cant wait to see you again. And we are all thinking of u tons. and i try to pray 4 u everyday. You are a great friend. this morning i was thinking about you when i read the verse in the bible that said"Rain Falls On The Righteous And The Unrighteous" and i remember when i found out about you having cancer and i remember thinking how could this happen to such a nice and generous guy.but this morning was the first time that i understand that us humans on earth have No control over anyting on earth and i hope that you now that anything that happens to you in your life time is apart of Gods big plan and maybe you rmoving back to memphis waas in Gods plan so that you could share the gosple with someone back in Memphis.we are praying for you.

Tyler,
This is Mrs. Sheryak (Connor's mom)
A couple a days ago I met a 16 year old girl name Alex that had bone cancer a couple of years ago(she would have been just a bit older than you)in her hip. Initially they thought she had a knee problem so she had knee surgery....then they discovered it. She goes to Culver ( a boarding school) in IN and is just now back at school. I work with her dad and they just recently moved to Louisville and just started attending Southeast. She has offered to email you. She is pretty funny. She just recently got her first summer job at Pappa Johns ....and I laughed at some of
her descriptions!!
I know you have heard from Connor, but our family is all praying for you. Connor is hoping to visit you in Memphis this summer.
Let me know if you would like to hear from Alex and I will let her dad know.

Hey Tyler, it's me the author of the blog (so it says). I've been thinking of you , and praying everyday for you and your family. Settle an argument for me....in Florida wasn't it you and me that found the "talent", and CN had nothing to do with it, right?? Take care my man, we love you!

Hey Tyler I'm glad that your first chemo went well. I can't wait to see you as your usual self. I am hoping to be able to come up and visit you soon. I hope that the doctors will be able to give you the treatments that will heal you as soon as possible. Always remember that God is at your side even through the tough times. I know what its like to be sick and to lay in a bed and think when is this going to be over, but God will provide.
