Feeling Better

Wednesday, August 27

The entire family was hanging out in Tyler's hospital room tonight when I talked with Sarah. He still has a fever but it isn't as high. The doctor's took him off of one of the antibiotics. He has gotten up today and walked around and ate a little dinner. The cultures aren't growing anything (they are negative) so the doctors are baffled as to what is causing his fever. They swabbed his mouth today and sent more cultures to the lab. His hemoglobin is low so tomorrow he will have a blood transfusion. This will be a first. He had MRI's and x-rays so it was a busy day. The good news is, Tyler is feeling better. I pray the fever will leave and he will be able to go home soon!

It warms my heart to read the posts on the blog. I loved the one from the Scull family. Their boys raised $850 this summer selling lemonade. That is amazing! I know Tyler will do something special with that money. A big Thank You to everyone who has mailed cards, posted, and prayed. It is so encouraging for the family to know they are loved and cared for. The 8th grade class at CAL sent Tyler a package this week and another one is in the mail. I read some of the cards they wrote and they made me laugh. I know they will make Tyler laugh too. You are an amazing bunch of friends. God loves you and so do I.
Stay close! Kim

Hey Tyler!!!
Ive been thinking about you a lot and praying that youre getting better! I know you dont like to be in the hospital, but that is where you can get the best care right now. I just got in a few minutes ago from my soccer game. The CAL JV girls soccer team tied Assumption 1-1. It was a tough game, but everyone played very well. I dont know if Tommy told you but our Sawyer soccer team won the Bluegrass Cup last weekend. Tommy played 3 amazing games! H is an awesome defender and Shelby was a very good forward. Next time we play a game, my mom will video tape it and send it to you! I'm sure you heard we got out of school early Wednesday! Nothing exciting is really going on, but we talk about you everyday and pray that your surgery will go well and that youll be back with us soon.
I miss and love you VERY much!

Hi from your California family! We think about and pray for you every day!! We miss you and wish we could be there to give you the hugs that we have in our hearts.

We praise God that he is doing great things in and through you. We thank him for the strength and courage he's giving you and your family.

Cindy read a devotional prayer today and wanted to share it with you. It's from rbc.org -- a great web site. And it's from us, with love,

Aunt Cindy, Uncle Dave, Hannah, Naomi & Matthew

"A PRAYER FOR THE END OF THE DAY"

“Our Father,

At the end of another day, we come to you not just by ourselves– but together.

Many of us will readily admit that you have given us again today far more than we deserve. But some of us find ourselves reeling with news that we have not yet been able to understand or even to accept.

So, we come to you together, not only because we know that you alone are to be thanked for our good times, but because you alone are to be trusted in the moments of our loss.

We also admit, Father, that in spite of what we boldly declare in the light, when the sun goes down, we are inclined to worry about things we cannot change or control. So we need your help again tonight to remember with David the King and songwriter of Israel that,

“He who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps. The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night. The LORD keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever” (Psalm 121:4-8 NLT).

So as we get ready to lay our head on our pillow, please let our hearts also find their rest in you.

In the name of your Son Jesus, “Good night, Father.”
