Tyler is currently at the hospital have his next to last chemo treatment administered. We pray it goes as smoothly as his last one which was a couple of weeks ago. He is having this treatment as an outpatient so he should be home around 10:00 tonight. Pray he feels good and he doesn't start throwing up. f he can handle this treatment his last one will be next Friday. We can't wait to celebrate with him and his family.
Tyler is scheduled to have extensive testing the week of April 20Th. Every test possible will be given to him to check his body out from top to bottom. The results of the tests will determine if he has to continue with chemo or not. In other words, has the cancer appeared anywhere else. We will be praying this is a big NO! He will have to have extensive physical treatment on his leg and hopefully after chemo his infections will disappear so he doesn't have to have further surgeries on his leg. We will wait patiently. What a long road it has been. At times it appeared God had disappeared but really He was carrying them through this trial. What a comfort to know He is always there for us!
Tonight there is a special assembly at Christian Academy in honor of Tyler. A high school teacher, John Park, is talking on the value of families and he will sketch a picture in chalk. John has spent the last few weeks painting a portrait of Tyler that he will have on display tonight. It is a gift for the family. I have seen the portrait and it is a wonderful portrait of a very handsome young man. Donations are being accepted at the door that will be given to St. Jude Hospital in honor of Tyler. I am looking forward to an uplifting evening. The evening will be taped for the Hanson's.
Thanks for the continued prayers! Stay close! Kim

Hi Tyler! We all feel relief for you. One more and this ordeal will hopefully be over!!!! The fact that you are going to be done next Friday gives Mary Beth a lot of hope that she can come visit you over Spring Break! She misses you so! I will be in touch with you and your parents as time grows closer to CAL'S Spring Break! Keep your fingers crossed! I actually have a favor to ask you....I have never been to Memphis before so....do you think you could do a little research as to waht you wold like to do if Mary Beth and some friends come to see you? If you feel up to doing activities....great...if not that's fine too. We will do what you want to do. SOmetimes just hanging out with your friends is the best nedicine. Even though I am 44 I still keep in touch and value my friends so much. I have 4 grade school friends that I still keep in touch with a lot. Can you imagine....over 30 years! SO if that is all you feel up for that is fine with us. Juast a little something to think about. You can be in touch with Mary Beth as time draws a little closer. Remeber me telling you about my best friend who had 2 types of cancer....well she has been off all of her treatments for a couple of months now and each day she feels better. Althought those chemicals saved her life it sure is great having them out. She just went on vacation to Florida and feels great! I just feel in my heart that you will experience the same positive way she has. I must go now and drag Mary Beth away from the T.V. she has homework to do. She actually had a free day yesterday which was nice....no gym! But it is back to the grind for her today! I think she has finish typing her research paper. Have a blessed day and be in touch! Always th inking of you and your family! Mrs. Hickman
