God Showers Us In His Love

Ever since Charles and I have found out that Tyler has cancer, it has been our desire to use it in whatever way we can to show Gods love to other people and His hand in our lives. And as I sit back and think about all that has happened, I realize, that God wanted to pour out, His love, on us. For whatever reason, he chose our family and said, I am going to show them how precious and special they are to me and how much I love them and He has gently stirred the hearts of so many people in so many places. The poem below is from my daily devotion from Focus on the Family. It reminds me of the qualities of true freindship in Christ, which is what you have all shown us. Thank you all for listening to those gentle stirrings in your hearts and responding to them to show us God's love.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can share my bread with you, and sometimes share a sorrow, too-as on our way we go.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can sit an hour with you, and I can share a joke with you, and sometimes share reverses, too-as on our way we go.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can share my flowers with you, and I can share my books with you, and sometimes share your burdens, too-as on our way we go.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can share my songs with you, and I can share my mirth with you, and sometimes come and laugh with you-as on our way we go.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can share my hopes with you, and I can share my fears with you, and sometimes shed some tears with you-as on our way we go.

There isn't much that I can do, but I can share my friends with you, and I can share my life with you, and oftentimes share a prayer with you-as on our way we go.

Tyler is sleeping. He is doing okay. We have about 54 hours left of chemo to go. Yesterday, Tyler's doctor decided to set him up on a form of intravenous nourishment called TPN. Tyler will receive sugar, proteins, vitamins and fat through his line. With this, Tyler should be able to feel better, have more energy and gain his weight back. Dr. Maurer also told us that the PET scan they did on Tuesday, showed a small spot on Tyler's right lung. They went back to the PET scan they did 5 weeks ago and saw that the same spot was there then, it is just so small they did not see it. It has not changed any in the last five weeks. This is good news. Dr. Maurer thinks it is unlikely that Tyler's cancer has metasticized. He is going to present Tyler's case before a board of physicians this week and they will decide collaboratively what to do. The spot is so small it would be very hard to biopsy and traumatic for Tyler because it is in a hard place to get to. So at this point, Dr. Maurer thinks it best just to wait and watch, but like I said before he is going to get the opinions of other doctors. Please pray that Dr. Maurer is right and Ty's cancer hasn't spread and that God will provide complete healing.
